Sleepless Night is the eleventh episode to Rilakkuma & Kaoru.
Netflix Synopsis[]
Thinking a streak of light in the night sky was a UFO, Korilakkuma tries to call it back by building a pyramid-shaped beacon out of junk.
Summary[]
Korilakkuma has trouble sleeping, so she looks outside the apartment window at that night sky. There, he sees a brief flash of light that astonishes her. The following day, Korilakkuma continues looking outside the window and when Kaoru asks why he is, she tells her that he saw a UFO. Playing along with Korilakkuma, Kaoru informs him that aliens like dried squid, and then she leaves for work.
That afternoon while playing with his remote control duckie, Korilakkuma asks the fisherman for his barbershop pole. The fisherman allows Korilakkuma to have it and gives her a spool of rope to help carry it home with the help of his roommates. Back at the apartment, Korilakkuma sets the pole up. She also puts sticks of wood around the pole and a circle with a star in the center made with chalk.
Late that night, Korilakkuma waits by the beacon and is soon greeted by an alien. It eats Korilakkuma's dried squid offering and takes him onto its ship. On the ship are two giant pandas and Korilakkuma and the alien trade each other's respective buttons.
The following morning, Korilakkuma wakes up in his bed in a tizzy wondering what had happened. Looking out the window, Korilakkuma is joined by Kaoru who asks if she saw the alien that he wanted to see and he responds yes. Happy for Korilakkuma Kaoru claims that she'd like to meet an alien one day too. To confirm that it wasn't a dream, Korilakkuma looks at the button he got from the alien and smiles.
