Korilakkuma is the common accompaniment to Rilakkuma, a smaller, child-like white bear with a mischievous personality. Korilakkuma was created as a contrasting personality to laid-back Rilakkuma.
Korilakkuma frequently plays pranks on Rilakkuma while he is sleeping. Korilakkuma doesn't speak much, but sometimes imitates what Rilakkuma is saying. Korilakkuma also has the appearance of a bear, but also has a red button attached on the chest, and so is also possibly just a bear suit. However, unlike Rilakkuma, there is no zipper on the back. Korilakkuma loves playing with a radio controlled duck toy and a stuffed penguin. Like Rilakkuma, Korilakkuma also likes listening to music on the radio, particularly at loud volume.
- Korilakkuma has no official gender, and is shown wearing both male and female costumes.
- Korilakkuma's favourite foods are strawberries, apples and cherries.
- In Korilakkuma's name, "ko" means child or younger one.
